“Syndrome of Nullité” by Marc Caro, as published in Métal Hurlant 79bis Spécial Robots. Marc Caro started out as a part-time member of the french “Elles Sont de Sortie” art-collective (w/ Pascal Doury & Bruno Richard) later doing comics for magazines like “Métal Hurlant” (Heavy Metal), “Charlie Mensuel” & “RAW”. He has published a few collections (see “Tot”, “In Vitro”, “Contrapunktiques” a.o.) of his works but has since moved on to become one of today’s leading “underground” film producers (see “Le bunker de la dernière rafale”“City of lost children”, “Delicatessen” and the more recent “Dante 01” as well as a host of shorts and TV commercials) retaining much of the same feel he used to exhibit in his comics approach.
